Synopsis for "Bloodties part 5: Of Kith and Kin"

Aboard the SHIELD helicarrier, Nick Fury shows Black Widow telemetry from Genosha that scares them. Exodus has created a psionic barrier around the island even as he taunts Fabian Cortez in the sewers beneath Hammer Bay. Quicksilver tries to get Luna from Cortez, but Exodus stops him, takes her for himself, and seemingly kills Cortez. He then proclaims himself Magneto’s true heir and warns Genosha will pay for its crimes against mutants. On the surface, reporter Trish Tilby covers the X-Men’s rescue of Genoshan government staff from mutate rebels. The Black Knight, Captain America, Sersi, and War Machine arrive, the two teams compare notes, and they agree to join forces. Storm and War Machine fly up to inspect the barrier, but it disables his armor, and she and Sersi have to save him. Just then, Professor X telepathically summons both teams to help him. In an underground concentration camp, he, Beast, USAgent, and their allies huddle with captive mutates as Magistrate forces bear down on them. The Avengers and the X-Men burst in, swiftly defeat the Magistrates, and lead the mutates to the surface. From the sewers, Exodus telepathically stuns Rogue, tortures Quicksilver, and sentences him and Scarlet Witch to die for turning against their father Magneto. On the helicarrier, Vision notes that the barrier is shrinking and will crush Genosha. With Crystal, Jean Grey, Luna, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch his captives, Exodus goes to the surface and confronts the Avengers and the X-Men. Revealing Magneto is disabled, Exodus announces he will destroy Genosha unless the mutates kill all the humans on the island. The Avengers and the X-Men divide their forces, and one group engages the mutate mob. Cortez’s bodyguards the Unforgiven arrive, knock out Revanche, and pledge their allegiance to Exodus but are quickly defeated. The other Avengers and X-Men make a combined attack on Exodus, but he repels them and declares he will kill Luna, Magneto’s granddaughter, for being human. Professor X hits Exodus with a telepathic blast, stunning him long enough for the Black Knight to strike with his photon sword. With Exodus down, the barrier drops, and Crystal reunites with Luna. Professor X calls out the mutates for trying to massacre Genosha’s human population. Exodus recovers and flies way but not before killing Quicksilver with an optic blast. Fortunately, the Black Knight is able to revive him using CPR. The next morning, Captain America and Professor X watch from the shore as SHIELD brings food and supplies to the city. Mutate activist Jenny Ransome calls the professor a hypocrite for keeping his status as a mutant secret, and he admits she may be right.
